A customer recently noticed that video embedded in a custom portal page (uploaded to your Account’s Static Files area in the CMS) was not playing in the Microsoft Edge browser.
It turns out that the video was using the HEIC codec. HEIC videos work great in Apple’s Safari but not so great in Edge or Firefox.
So for compatibility across all modern browsers make sure your video is generated using the H264 codec.
Note that when you upload a video as an Asset, Brandkit generates a playable Preview video and automatically generates an mp4 file with the H264 codec.
Make sure you use the h264 codec for videos uploaded to static files, for placement in custom pages in your Brandkit portal to ensure compatibility across browsers.
