Google’s CEO (Sundar Pichai ) was on stage and showcased an extraordinary surge in AI usage: 480 trillion tokens processed each month (a 50-fold increase compared to last year), 400 million active Gemini app users, and over 1.5 billion people leveraging AI-driven search summaries every month.

This shift isn’t just hype — it’s reshaping how your customers will find and interact with your brand.

Here’s what you, as a Brandkit customer, should know about Google I/O 2025:

  • AI Mode is now Google Search: Launched yesterday to all US users, AI Mode provides summarized answers by aggregating content. If your brand’s content isn’t tailored to AI-driven responses, you risk losing visibility.

  • Visual Search is accelerating: Google Lens usage has surged 65% year-over-year, and Google’s upcoming Search Live will enable users to interact via video directly with search results. Ensuring your products and media assets are visually discoverable is now critical.

We are and we’re thinking a lot about authenticity these days and where we’ll end up if every brand generates it’s stories, imagery and video with AI tools like the announced Veo 3 and Flow

So it was good to see mention of SynthID - which is about tagging generated image and video as generated. We’ll be looking at whether we can integrate this to label any images or video or text in your Brandkit library is they are AI generated.

We’re already working on new ways to store and manage brand knowledge (no longer just visuals and media assets) - and then serve that metadata and knowedge in a structured format to LLM’s and Chatbots. We’re looking at how we keep some knowledge private, and ensuring knowledge is properly attributed, while licensing other knowledge to LLMs and chatbots.
