How do I remove a User’s access rights?
When someone leaves or you are no longer working together, you will want to remove their access rights to protect your security.
Option 1: Suspend the user
You cannot delete a user in Brandkit, because we want to maintain a history of their activity - but you can suspend them, which is effectively the same thing. The user will no longer be able to login or register with that email address.
In Admin
- Click Users
- Search for the User
- Click the Users Email Address in the User Search Results - to displays the User’s detail page
- Click the Suspend Access button
That’s it. The User is now suspended.
Note: Brandkit will not notify the user of the suspension.
Option 2: Change the user’s role
Sometime you might want to allow the user to login and access your assets, but their Role has changed, maybe they are no longer employed, or have moved onto a new company, etc.
You can simply change their Role.
In Admin
- Click Users
- Search for the User
- Click the Users Email Address in the User Search Results - to displays the User’s detail page
- Click the Edit User button
- Select a new Role for the user.
- Scroll down and Save.
That’s it. The User now has a new User Role.
Note: The Role change will be instant, but the user may have to reload the site if they are currently logged in. Brandkit will NOT notify the user of a changed Role.
