To create a Category in Brandkit, what you are really doing is creating a Filter.
You can think of Categories as Filters.
A Filter is a pre-configured list of Tags that:
helps Admins with Asset Tagging
helps all Users find Assets with Search Filters
Example of Filters used as a Tagging helper in the Admin areaThe same Filters used in Search in the Portal
How to create a Filter
Filters page in Admin > Settings > Filters
In Admin navigate to Settings
Select Filters
Click + Create New Filter
Add a Name (e.g. enter ‘Category’)
In the Field - select the Tag option from the drop-down list
Click Save
On the next screen enter a comma separated list of Tags as Category values (e.g. if the Filter name was Season, your list would be something like: Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter)
Save
You’ll now find a Search filter for the new Filter in the Admin > Assets view (automatic for all Filters).
You will need to edit the Portal Search page to add the new Filter to the Search Filters options. It will appears in the Filter options in the Search Grid section.
You can also now use the new Filter to create Albums for each Filter value (e.g. Summer)
