Asset Release Dates - publish assets on your own schedule

A Release date can be added to an Asset, that automatically publishes it from your portal(s) at some future date.

By default the Release Date is automatically set for you, to the Create or Upload date of the Asset, but you can edit this to some future date if needed.

Here’s how:

1. In Admin, find the Asset and click Edit.
2. Scroll down to the Release date field and select or type in a release date.
3. Click Save

Impact

• Once added the Asset will be held in a Pre-Release state until the Release Date is reached.
• Once the Release Date is reached the Asset’s State changes to Active, and the Asset appears in your portal(s)
• It’s not possible to view an Asset in the Pre-Release state in your Portal(s)
• Admins can still download and share not yet released Assets

FAQs

Q: What time of the day will the Asset be released? A: The release time is 00:01 (just after midnight) on the morning of the Release Date in GMT/UTC time.The actual time locally will depend on your timezone.

Q: Can I bulk add/update the Release Date for more than one asset at a time. A: Yes you can do that through the Basket and batch editing. Select the Assets you want to update, then in the Basket select the Edit button, followed by the Edit Assets button, followed by the Release Date option. Set a new Release Date and save.
