Q: How do I add Assets (including existing Assets) into an Album?
Albums are really saved searches and therefore any Asset that meets the Search Query set in the Album will be found and added to the Album automatically.
For example let’s say we create an Album called “Dogs”
(Fig: Album Settings page for an Album named “Dogs”)
We would create an Album, adding the name Dogs and a Search Query that searches for the Tag: Dog.
Any Asset tagged with tag: Dog will be found and included in the Album.
We can also add an Album cover by searching for “Dog” and selecting an image. This will populate the Album cover automatically.
So to add Assets to this Album just ensure it is tagged with tag: Dog.
Multi-faceted search query
Album search queries operate like any other search and can include multi-facets (multiple search variables) or combination software tags and other attributes.
Examples.
- Asset Type: Image, Tag: Dog
- Tag: Dog, Orientation:Portrait
- Tag: Dog or Tag: Cat
- Asset Type:Image, Tag: Dog, Orientation: Portrait
Portal visibility
Assets in Albums still respect general rules of visibility in the Portal. They must be
- Have an Active status (i.e. be Approved)
- Released
- Not Expired
- Visible to the Users Role
Albums are visible in the Portal provided
- The album is Approved
- The album is selected in the Albums section of the page
Albums are also visible in Search Grids as Filters (drop-downs) if they are selected in the Search Grid section of a page.
Happy branding :)
Q: How do I add Assets (including existing Assets) into an Album?
In Brandkit, Albums are saved searches, so you add assets (including existing ones) by tagging them to match the Album’s search query, and they appear in the Album automatically.
