It aims to assist digital asset managers and librarians in tagging those assets (images, videos and other graphics files) by providing a basic framework to start with and build upon.
Each digital asset library or digital asset management
system (DAM) will differ, but by adopting a common base framework of tags to start with, users and librarians who will often work across multiple libraries in their career, will save time and be able to deliver better quality outcomes.
For example, the framework presented here is adapted from a framework promoted by iStock, a division of Getty, one of the world’s largest stock image libraries. As a consequence, there are a number of users out in the world who are already exposed to this framework, who will feel at home applying or searching for assets using the tags and approaches, suggested in this document.

Photos traditionally have width to height proportions or ratios of 3x2, 4x3 or 16x9. While these ratios still persist in the digital world, there are many cases where a different ratio is needed. Today, Panoramic images (we use these for Portal Image Carousels for example), Skyscraper web banners, and Square images (for Instagram™ for example) are 3 commonly used formats (with not your traditional ratios).

New User Registration Process in Brandkit: To make the new Private account (no self-service logon or search without login) options available in Brandkit, we’ve had to overhaul the whole registration process, because when Private Account is turned on, all the login/registration steps had to happen before users hit the Portal.
